A school's annual tuition number is a useful start. It is not the amount your family will necessarily need in the bank when a place is offered. Application charges, enrolment, transport, uniforms and support can arrive on different dates.

If you are comparing Hua Hin school fees for 2026/27, build two budgets: the first year of joining and an ordinary later year. Then build a payment calendar. This guide uses a current published HHIS example to show the method; it is not a claim that every school in Hua Hin charges the same amount.

Use the correct academic year

The Hua Hin International School fees page links its official 2026–2027 fee sheet. We checked the document on 6 October 2026. Do not reuse a 2025/26 figure simply because a search result still ranks it highly.

For five full days, its published yearly tuition is 603,150 baht for Primary, 694,920 for Key Stage 3, 738,330 for Key Stage 4 and 740,550 for IB Diploma. Morning snack and lunch are included. These are stage-specific amounts, not a universal quote for every child or attendance arrangement.

Before calculating, confirm the child's placement, programme, attendance and any support needed with admissions. A familiar year-group label from your previous country does not settle placement. For school types, pathways and the wider shortlist, read our Hua Hin schools guide.

A worked first-year Primary budget

The HHIS sheet lists a 4,000-baht application fee and an 80,000-baht enrolment fee, both non-refundable. Here is our arithmetic for a new full-year Primary pupil before discounts, transport or other extras. It is a budgeting illustration, not an invoice from the school.

Published itemTHB
Annual Primary tuition, five full days603,150
Application4,000
Enrolment80,000
Subtotal before transport and other extras687,150
Subtotal divided by 12, for saving purposes only57,262.50 per month

The monthly line is not a school payment plan. It shows what setting aside the subtotal evenly over a year would mean. For two new Primary pupils, twice that baseline is 1,374,300 baht before extras or any confirmed discount. Do not assume an automatic second-child reduction.

Cash flow matters as much as the annual total

The sheet divides tuition into three termly payments; Primary tuition is 201,050 baht per term. Its listed Term 2 due date is 9 December. Confirm the actual invoice and arrangements for a child joining partway through the year rather than assuming a pro-rata amount.

Put each confirmed payment into a calendar with the amount, currency and last date the school needs cleared funds. The date you initiate an international transfer is not necessarily the date the school receives it. Keep bank fees separate and retain the payment confirmation.

If you are joining now, distinguish amounts already spent by other families from amounts still payable for your child. A full-year comparison helps compare schools, but an October-start invoice may differ. Ask for that specific quote; do not calculate a discount from the number of weeks left without agreement.

Ask for the extras in one written list

The fee sheet says Year 11 and Year 13 examination charges are invoiced separately. Request the current amount where relevant. Also ask admissions to identify transport, uniforms, materials, trips, activities and learning or language support in the quote for your child.

Use a simple comparison sheet with these columns: included, compulsory extra, optional extra, due date and refundable or not. Leave an unknown amount marked “quote needed” rather than inserting a plausible number from another family's bill.

  • Does transport serve your actual address, and is the charge termly or otherwise?
  • Is additional support available, how is it assessed, and how is it charged?
  • Which uniform items and materials must be bought from the school?
  • Are trips, clubs and after-school care included, optional or required?
  • What notice and withdrawal conditions apply, including prepaid amounts?

If a discount is offered, ask which items it applies to, its conditions and the resulting invoice. A percentage off tuition is not necessarily a percentage off the whole first-year cost. Compare confirmed totals for the same child and year, not headline discounts.

Budget the school run before choosing a house

HHIS gives its address in Hin Lek Fai on the official site. Check the actual route from the home you are considering, especially at morning pickup and afternoon return times. A cheaper rental can cost more in transport and make activities harder to manage.

Try the journey before committing where possible. Ask about a rainy-day alternative, collection after clubs and who can collect a child if you are unavailable. Our Hua Hin area guide and transport guide help organise those checks without invented commute times.

Keep the housing deposit and relocation costs outside the education subtotal, but inside the family move budget. If money arrives in another currency, make an exchange-rate scenario rather than treating today's conversion as fixed for the entire academic year.

Compare like with like, not just expensive with cheap

An international-school programme, a bilingual school and a learning centre are not interchangeable products. Confirm the current campus, legal status, curriculum, age range and future progression. A lower price is useful only if the programme meets the child's needs and your next-stage plan.

Request a current written quote from each provider on your shortlist. Do not invent an equivalent fee for a school that does not publish one. Keep school admission separate from the child's and parents' immigration permission: paying a fee does not approve a visa.

Finish with three numbers you can explain: joining costs, recurring education costs and payments due before the next term. If one is still unknown, get the answer before paying a non-refundable amount. That is a more reliable start than choosing the smallest tuition figure on a comparison site.

Common questions

What is the baseline first-year HHIS Primary cost for 2026/27?

The published annual Primary tuition plus application and enrolment fees totals 687,150 baht before transport, other extras or confirmed discounts. It is a full-year budgeting subtotal, not a personalised invoice.

Can I pay HHIS monthly because the annual fee is divided by 12 here?

No monthly payment entitlement follows from that calculation. The monthly figure is a saving illustration. Confirm the school's actual invoice dates and any agreed payment arrangement directly.

Does a school-fee quote guarantee a place and a family visa?

No. Placement, admission, the final invoice and immigration permission are separate decisions. Confirm each child's programme and each family member's immigration route before committing to the move.

Official documents checked on 6 October 2026. Arithmetic is ours; costs are in Thai baht. Fees and admission conditions should be reconfirmed with the provider before payment.
